Information we collect
- Account information, such as your name, email address, authentication information, and account preferences.
- Profile details you choose to provide, including username, occupation, employer, industry, location, experience, biography, and profile photo.
- Verification submissions, including credential type, issuer and number, experience details, reviewer notes, and verification status.
- Posts, reviews, ratings, polls, votes, suggestions, messages to the ProAtHeight team, reports, and other information you submit.
- Technical information needed to operate and secure the site, such as cookies or session identifiers, IP address, browser/device details, and service logs generated by our hosting and authentication providers.
How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts; provide profiles, discussions, reviews, ratings, notifications, and support; review professional verification; moderate content and investigate complaints; understand and improve site performance; send account, security, and optional activity emails; and meet legal obligations. You can manage available activity email preferences in your profile settings. Password reset and other essential account messages may still be sent.
What others can see
Your posts, replies, reviews, votes or poll activity where displayed, badges, and associated public member identity may be visible to other users or visitors. A verified professional can opt into a public directory listing; the profile form explains which fields appear there. Profile photos and some profile details may appear to signed-in members where the product displays them. Treat anything you publish in a public area as public. Verification credential numbers, private account email addresses, and messages to the team are not displayed publicly by default; authorized administrators can access them to operate the service. Do not put sensitive personal information in public posts.
Service providers and disclosures
We use providers to host the website and database, authenticate users, store files, and deliver email, including Vercel, Supabase, and our configured email provider (Google Workspace or Resend). They process information to provide those services under their own applicable terms. We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a future transfer of the service, subject to applicable law. We do not currently sell member personal information or run targeted advertising on this site.
Cookies and security
Authentication and session technologies keep you signed in and help protect accounts. Our providers may collect technical logs for operation and security. We use reasonable safeguards and limit administrative access, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. The site is intended for adults 18 and older and is not directed to children.
Retention and your choices
We retain information while needed for your account and the purposes above, and for a reasonable period afterward where needed for backups, disputes, safety, fraud prevention, or legal requirements. Public contributions may remain visible after an account is closed unless removed. You can edit available profile fields, control eligible directory visibility and email preferences, and remove your profile photo in your account settings. To request access, correction, or deletion of other account information, email chris@proatheight.com. We will review requests subject to applicable law and the rights of others.
